Corporate learning program is a key to successful business and development of an excellent team. If you want your organization to make it to the top, it is vital that you pay attention to team building and management training aspects as well. An efficient and motivated team can improve operational efficiency of an organization.

Importance of Team building:

Team building is important for any organization to motivate the employees and get the best out of them. Through such programs, a manager makes sure that his team works closely with each other, trust among the members of his/her team strengthens and energies are driven toward achieving a common goal. Team building develops the spirit of togetherness, co-operation and mutual understanding. It can also help in motivating the employees to give their best and take the company to the peak. Through such programs, a company can proactively increase job satisfaction among employees.

Many companies plan several corporate learning events to rejuvenate employee’s minds and motivate them to take up new challenges. Companies plan a weekend getaway at some resort or a team dinner, to bring employees together and increase interactive within the team. Such outings are significant for new employees so that they get a chance to interact with their seniors and develop a strong rapport with them.

Team building programs-

Below are a few programs that can help employers to promote bonding between team members:

o Quiz Events: Many companies organize quiz programs for excellent team building. This includes various questions that help employees to know more about their co-workers. Sometimes, the employee is asked about the likes and hobbies of their colleague. This helps to develop a strong bond among the co-workers. Many-a-times, employees are divided into teams and certain questions are posed, this is also an excellent technique of team building.

o Performing a skit: Some companies organize plays and skit, wherein all the team members are encouraged to participate. The script is written in a way that the play highlights the strength and weaknesses of every employee working in the company. For such a stage drama, all employees will automatically work in team and plan and rehearse together. The motive of such a skit is to develop a sense of team work among the employees. These also help in improving communication among all the workers and strike a long lasting bond.

Using Team Building For Insight And Inspiration

Successful experiences can lead to insight, creativity and positive action within an organization, while an unsuccessful experience can lead members of your organization to feel frustrated, bored or confused.

To really pull people together, these experiences need to be carefully planned and tailored to the needs of the business or organization. Only then can the results of the exercises have a positive, lasting impact on members of your organization.

For corporate exercises to really work, all participating members need to feel a sense of investment and purpose during team building. One way to accomplish this is to discuss the goals and outcomes beforehand. Knowing what areas to address and what experiences will most benefit to people you are working with can lead to greater insights and a sense of working toward a common goal.

Many people who plan team building sessions get caught up in making sure everything gets done. This can lead to a sense of urgency that will be noticed by everyone involved. During the exercises, allow individual members time to explore the concepts that are being focused on, whether it is a group project, a quiet reflection time or a fun activity.

Making sure people don’t get sidetracked is important during group sessions. While some give and take is essential when working with a group of people, it is important for everyone to experience the completion of what they set out to do. If issues and ideas come up during a team building session that do not match the session’s goals, make sure there is a way to capture them for later. They might even provide the basis for the next session.

Above all else, getting a group of people together should involve a sense of fun and camaraderie. Some of the activities that take place may only have laughter as a purpose or outcome in order to bring some levity to a group that may be facing more serious issues.

Sometimes creative team building can remind people that work should be fun and inspiring and that everyone can take time to connect or share a laugh when things are frustrating or stressful.

Working together during team building sessions can help every member see that each individual’s strengths are what makes a team so great. Celebrating and recognizing the members of a group and their particular contributions can lead to more positive interactions and feelings during an exercise and even once the members return to their work.

4 Tips To Maximize Your Productivity

Working for yourself is great, no bosses, you set your own rules, you’re the master of your domain…

However all this freedom creates one big challenge, figuring out how to get stuff done in a world filled with distractions. It’s so easy to find reasons to procrastinate when you don’t have anyone to report to and you have no clear deadlines. So if you’re currently languishing in procrastination land I thought I’d share with you a few ways that I’ve found that help me finally buckle down so I can get #*#$ done!

1) Create Accountability

Us humans are pretty interesting sometimes, we’re more likely to push and get something done if someone else is counting on us. Perhaps it’s because we’ve been conditioned through school and jobs to have a boss or because we value other people’s approval more than we do our own but either way that’s the way it works. Knowing that what you can do is try to put yourself in positions where other people are counting on you to get something done by a certain time. This will cut down on your urge to procrastinate or even eliminate your procrastination habits all together. Make promises to your team, your business partners or your employees. If you have any sense of integrity whatsoever you’ll make sure you get your work done.

2) Create A Time Constraint

Here’s another good trick that I heard one time on a training webinar. If you work on a laptop go out to a coffee shop to work but don’t bring your power cord. If you have a laptop with a decent batter life (not like mine) then you’ll have a 90 minutes to a couple of hours to work before your batter dies. This will force you to get to work since you’ll have no time to fool around surfing the net.

3) Turn Off The Internet

This one is fairly obvious but takes some serious will power. Yes I know, these days we all work online but that doesn’t mean you have to be online all the time. Being online sometimes just creates a too high a distraction potential. Between email, YouTube and Facebook alone it’s a wonder anyone gets anything done these days. Just make sure that you have all the files you need to get your project done downloaded onto your computer so you simply have no need to go online. Now if you can’t seem to pull the plug another way to go about this is to go out somewhere where you don’t a connection. That way you have no choice but to work offline.

How to Prepare for the Loss of Your Job

Tips to Face Pink Slip Confidently

Living with the unknown and not knowing whether or not you will have your job tomorrow or next week or even next year can be very stressful. But here are few simple steps that can prepare you for a job loss

In today’s tough economic climate, job security is very scarce. You may have had a job for many years with promised retirement benefits and think you are safe, but the forces of globalization and the New World Order are at work and your job is not as secure as it might have been 20 or 30 years ago.

You can follow simple steps so as to prepare yourself for a job loss or even when you know that you will have a job for a while.

1. Invest in precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. Precious metals are a good long-term investment for difficult times. First of all, as the dollar falls, the value of precious metals increases. Currently, the ballpark rates for precious metals are as follows. Gold is roughly worth $900 an ounce, Silver is roughly worth $27 an ounce and platinum is even more valuable than gold at $2,000 an ounce.

2. Keep a rainy day fund which can be a special bank account or even a bank account under your mattress with money that you do not touch unless you really need to. This extra money can be useful in times where you cannot pay bills, such as when you have lost your job.

3. Learn about internet marketing and working on the internet. Lately, the internet can be a great source of passive income. There are many companies out there that provide services for those people who are novices at internet marketing and etailing. Etailing can be done by having an e-commerce site and being able to sell products by using a dropshipper. One of the best services to help you build your online store is Stores Online which is based in Colorado.

The best thing about the internet is that you can have a website where you sell something and it can generate some sort of income when you don’t have the income coming in that you had when you had your job. If you have writing and other computer skills, you can also freelance on the internet and find work online. The internet can be a great safety net if used correctly if you lose your job.
